Subjects Taught
3rd Grade

I am a 1987 graduate of Headland High School.  I received a Bachelor's of Science in Elementary Education degree from Troy University in March of 1993.

Welcome to Third Grade!  I am pleased to have your child in my room this year.  Headland Elementary is an awesome school and we have strong, talented teachers in our grade level.  I am proud of my profession and the contribution we make to our families, schools, and community.  I have been a part of the Henry County education system for 25 years.  I am beginning my 26th year of teaching, my fourteenth at HES.  I started teaching in 1993 after graduating from Troy University- Troy State back then!  My first year was spent as an intervention teacher for 3rd and 4th graders with the Dothan City School System.  I was fortunate to become a member of the Henry County family the following year.  I have taught at both the middle and elementary school level, spanning over grades 1-6.  I look at each new school year as a challenge and the opportunity to keep me enthused about education, learning, and "on my toes".

I reside in Headland and have two children.  They are my greatest achievement!  Jenna is a graduate from Troy University-followed in her mom's footsteps.  She majored in Psychology.  She has a mission's heart and hopes to one day open a girl's home in South America.  When that time comes, I think it will be time for me to retire so that I can join her!  She currently serves as a Mission Trip Consultant and Leader during the summer. My son is a student at Wallace Community College.  He is carrying on his grandfather's legacy by becoming a welder.  He also enjoys fishing and  hunting.  Both are products of the Henry County School System.  Both are blessings! I attend Church at the Crossing in Dothan, AL.

I look forward to an exciting year as we work together to do all we can to help your child succeed to be their best.  We are offering opportunities to empower and engage our students today, while educating them to become the leaders of tomorrow.  Be blessed!
